OHIO — An Urbana man was arrested following a rollover crash Wednesday evening in Urbana.
According to the Urbana Police Division, officers responded March 11 to the intersection of North Edgewood Avenue and Mosgrove Street after receiving a report of a crash.
When officers arrived, they found a gray Chevrolet pickup off the roadway and spoke with 37-year-old Akeem Alajauwan Colquitt of Springfield at the scene.
Police say Colquitt initially claimed he had been a passenger and that the driver had left to get help. However, multiple witnesses told officers he was the only person in the truck and had been driving when it crashed. The vehicle’s owner also confirmed that information.
Officers reported signs of alcohol impairment, and a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.095.
Colquitt was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being arrested. He was later transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
He faces charges including operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), driving under a non-compliance suspension, failure to maintain reasonable control, and obstructing official business.
