TENNESSEE — A Memphis woman has been arrested after a tragic crash that left a 6-year-old boy dead Thursday afternoon in the Frayser area.
According to Memphis Police, officers responded around 4 p.m. to the intersection of Signal Street and Whitney Avenue for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Investigators say Kenyunte W. Goss was driving westbound on Whitney Avenue when the front of her Chrysler 200 hit the child, who was in the westbound lane.
The boy was taken to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.
Police say Goss remained at the scene. She has been charged with driving while license suspended, revoked or cancelled, and financial responsibility. Authorities say she does not currently have a bond set or a court date scheduled.
This remains an active investigation.
