REYNOLDSBURG – The Division of State Fire Marshal will be hosting its annual Ohio Fire Marshal Festival in Reynoldsburg, Licking County, on Saturday, September 14.
The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 8895 E. Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH, 43068, promises a variety of activities suitable for all ages.
“We had a wonderful turnout our first year and are so excited for this year’s festival,” said State Fire Marshal Kevin Reardon. “Our grounds are secure the other days of the year so it’s a great opportunity for families to come out and see all the important things we do here and have a good time.”
The festival aims to celebrate the courageous work of Ohio’s firefighters and the essential services provided by the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of State Fire Marshal in “Protecting What Matters Most” to Ohioans.
Attendees can expect a full day of educational programming, demonstrations, training sessions, and hands-on experiences.
Among the festival’s highlights are helicopter landings, K-9 fire dog training exercises, food trucks, fire apparatus displays, and fire safety demonstrations.
Entertainment will focus on education, safety, and interactive fun. Children will enjoy activities such as a magic show, face painting, bounce houses, balloon twisting, and a kiddie combat challenge featuring water hoses.
“This is the right event to finish off the summer season and send us into fall,” said event organizer Ken Klouda. “It’s family-friendly, entertaining, and informative; a perfect combination. Come out and spend the day with us.”
The festival also serves as a reunion for Ohio Fire Academy alumni, who are invited back to explore the Academy’s growth and hear about future plans.
Antique Fire Apparatus and Vehicles are also welcome to set up at the event. For more details, contact Ken Klouda at ken.klouda@com.ohio.gov.
