LOUISIANA — Assumption Parish deputies arrested a woman accused of beating a non-verbal child with a phone charger.
Deputies said they were called Wednesday to a special-needs facility after the child was found with noticeable injuries.
Authorities identified the suspect as 34-year-old Blessing Wynn. Investigators believe Wynn, who is reportedly related to the child, struck the child with a phone charger or its cord.
Wynn was arrested the same day and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of cruelty to the infirm.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office also notified the Department of Children and Family Services, which is now involved in the case.
