Thousands without power in Florida

FLORIDA — More than 7,000 homes and businesses across Florida are without electricity Thursday morning, according to national outage tracking data.

PowerOutage.us reported about 7,297 customers statewide are without power as of the latest update Thursday morning. The outages represent roughly 0.07% of the more than 10.9 million customers tracked across Florida.

Leon County had the highest number of outages, with about 1,426 customers without electricity.

Liberty County followed with approximately 1,343 customers affected, while Gulf County reported about 770 outages and Jackson County had roughly 544 customers without power. Taylor County also reported nearly 400 outages.

By utility provider, the City of Tallahassee reported the most outages with about 1,426 customers without power. Talquin Electric Cooperative reported about 1,424 outages, while Florida Power & Light Company and Duke Energy also reported more than 1,000 customers affected each.

Utility crews across the state were continuing work Thursday morning to restore power to affected homes and businesses.
