ALABAMA — Two brothers from Pensacola are facing multiple charges after authorities say a police chase ended in a crash involving a motorcycle on the Foley Beach Express.

According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Max Lewis and 26-year-old Blake Lewis were arrested following the incident Tuesday.

Investigators say the situation began when a deputy recognized one of the brothers from a previous chase over the weekend and initiated a traffic stop. Sheriff Anthony Lowery said the vehicle initially complied with the stop.

However, as a Foley police unit approached to assist, the vehicle reportedly sped away.

Authorities say the car pulled into the path of a motorcyclist, striking the motorcycle before the suspects continued driving. The crash left wreckage in the median of the Foley Beach Express north of Highway 98.

After the collision, officials say the brothers ran into nearby woods. Deputies and Foley police surrounded the area and eventually arrested both suspects.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators reported finding a gun and illegal drugs.

Both men face several charges, including felony attempting to elude law enforcement and leaving the scene of an accident with injury.

A bond hearing for the brothers was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in Fairhope.
