OHIO — A 36-year-old East Canton man died Tuesday night after his SUV crashed into a utility pole and overturned in Stark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 10 p.m. on March 10 on Berger Street NE, just north of Orchardview Drive SE in Osnaburg Township.
Investigators said a 2020 white Ford Explorer was traveling northbound when it went off the right side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned several times.
The driver, identified as Michael E. Bailey, was taken by Osnaburg Township EMS to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities said Bailey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation.
