FLORIDA — A driver was arrested Monday night after police said he crashed into multiple vehicles before sending a truck into a Miramar home.

According to Miramar Police, the incident happened near Hibiscus Place and Evergreen Drive outside the home of Dr. Ruth Cook and her husband, Earl.

Investigators said 63-year-old Anton Tracey, who was allegedly intoxicated, first struck two cars parked near the home. Police said he then hit the Cooks’ truck, pushing it into the house and leaving a hole in the wall.

Authorities said Tracey also knocked down a neighbor’s mailbox and struck trees and street signs before leaving the scene.

Cellphone video showed the truck after it finally came to a stop.

Police later located and arrested Tracey. He is facing charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

No injuries were reported in the crash, though the home and several vehicles were damaged.
