Second Buc-ee’s location could be coming to Ohio

OHIO — A second location of the popular travel center chain Buc-ee’s could soon be coming to Ohio, according to officials in Mansfield.

The company is already preparing to open its first Ohio location in Huber Heights, just outside of Dayton. Now, Jodie Perry said a second site may be under consideration in Mansfield.

In a Monday evening post on social media, Perry said a petition for annexation has been filed with the city, Richland County, as well as Madison Township and Mifflin Township. The request is related to a proposed travel center development near the intersection of Interstate 71 and Ohio State Route 39.

“This is the next step in a process that has already been in the works for months with a little company you may have heard of – Buc-ee’s,” Perry wrote in the post.

The mayor noted that the project is not yet finalized.

“We are still in the final stages of the due diligence process with them, but this step makes the process more public. A development of this size doesn’t come around all that often. It’s more than a gas station or restaurant or retail store. It’s a destination and experience that will undoubtedly make a substantial impact on our community.”

Officials have not announced a timeline for when the proposed location could open if the project moves forward.
