TEXAS — A Powerball ticket sold in Texas matched enough numbers in the Monday, March 9 drawing to win a $50,000 prize, according to lottery officials.

The winning numbers for the March 9 Powerball drawing were 22, 23, 28, 36, 54, with the Powerball number 13. The Power Play multiplier was 3x. The drawing featured an estimated jackpot of $47 million, with a cash value of $21.7 million.

While no ticket matched all six numbers to claim the jackpot, the Texas ticket matched four of the five white balls along with the Powerball, resulting in the $50,000 prize. Officials have not yet announced where in Texas the winning ticket was purchased.

Powerball drawings are held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. With no jackpot winner in the March 9 drawing, the grand prize will roll over to the next drawing as players continue to try their luck at winning the growing jackpot.

Lottery officials remind players to check their tickets carefully and sign the back of any winning ticket before claiming their prize.
