
SOUTH CAROLINA — A two-day law enforcement operation in Florence County resulted in more than 30 arrests, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the operation, called “Operation Spring Cleaning,” began Friday, March 6 and targeted high-crime areas across the county.
More than 43 personnel from several agencies participated in the effort, including the sheriff’s office Special Operations Bureau, Criminal Investigations, Aviation Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Criminal Enforcement Unit, Narcotics Bureau and Uniform Patrol. The City of Florence Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also assisted.
The sheriff’s office reported that the operation led to 33 arrests involving illegal narcotics, firearms violations, stolen vehicles and driving under the influence. Deputies also took 12 additional wanted suspects into custody during the effort.
Officials said the operation included four vehicle pursuits, the recovery of three stolen vehicles, and the issuance of 52 citations.
Florence County Sheriff T.J. Joye said the enforcement effort is ongoing.
