FLORIDA — A man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a foot chase and being found with several types of illegal drugs, according to the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
Police said officers attempted to stop a black pickup truck for a traffic violation on Holmes Boulevard Northwest on March 8. The driver, identified as Lekendrick Ingram, refused to stop.
Authorities said Ingram pulled into a driveway before driving through a yard and continuing west on Holmes Boulevard. He later turned onto Robinwood Drive Southwest, where he reportedly drove through a home’s front yard and damaged a cement mailbox.
Officers later found the truck parked on Leila Place Northwest. When officers approached the vehicle, Ingram ran and jumped a fence into a nearby backyard. Police surrounded the home and located him hiding behind the house.
Investigators said they found a modified cleaning spray can with a hidden compartment near where Ingram was located. Inside were several plastic bags containing suspected narcotics.
Police reported seizing about 54.1 grams of suspected cocaine, 56.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, about 7.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 11 oxycodone pills and $5,983 in cash.
Ingram was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and resisting arrest without violence.
The investigation is ongoing.
