TENNESSEE — A Jonesborough man was arrested after deputies discovered a suspected methamphetamine lab at a home in Washington County.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 100 block of Tipton Road after receiving a tip about a possible meth lab. When they arrived, deputies found 35-year-old Jacob M. Stapleton on the roof of the home.
Authorities said Stapleton jumped from the roof and attempted to flee, but deputies were able to apprehend him. He was checked by emergency medical services before being taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
Investigators said they located 166.4 grams of methamphetamine at the home, which was sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for analysis. Deputies also collected the lab and drug paraphernalia for disposal.
Stapleton faces several charges, including maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling controlled substances, manufacture, delivery or possession of methamphetamine, initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
As of Monday afternoon, authorities said Stapleton is being held without bond.
