
FLORIDA — A crash involving a school bus and a semi-truck shut down part of U.S. Highway 301 in Alachua County early Monday morning, according to local authorities.
Deputies with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Northeast U.S. Highway 301 at County Road 1474. Alachua County Fire Rescue crews also assisted at the scene.
Officials say the crash involved a school bus and a semi-truck. Following the collision, all northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 301 in the area are closed while emergency crews work at the scene.
Authorities said one child on the school bus complained of minor back pain following the crash. No other injuries were immediately reported.
It is not yet clear how many people were on the bus or what led to the crash. Investigators have not released additional details.
The roadway closure caused traffic disruptions in the area as crews respond and investigate. Authorities say the situation remains under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
