
INDIANA — A person was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Plainfield on Sunday afternoon, according to local authorities.
Officers with the Plainfield Police Department were called to the intersection of Williams Trace and East Main Street around 2 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving several vehicles.
When police arrived, they confirmed that the crash was not fatal, but one person had suffered serious bodily injuries. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Because of the severity of the crash, the department’s crash reconstruction team was called to the scene, and the intersection was temporarily shut down while investigators worked.
As of Sunday evening, the roadway had reopened. Police said the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and the exact nature of the victim’s injuries has not yet been released.
