Police searching for suspect following deadly hit-and-run incident in Ohio

OHIO — A 19-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Clermont County, and authorities are searching for the driver responsible.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 4 a.m. on Bethel-New Richmond Road in Ohio Township. Investigators say an unidentified vehicle struck a pedestrian near the roadway on a stretch of road just east of the intersection with U.S. Route 52.

The victim was later identified as Jayden Nelson, 19, of New Richmond. Officials said Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the driver involved in the crash left the area, and authorities are continuing to search for the person responsible. Investigators have not yet released a description of the vehicle or driver.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the New Richmond Police Department, the New Richmond Fire Department and the Clermont County Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.
