FLORIDA — One person is dead and another was injured after two men were found shot inside a car early Sunday morning in Bradenton, according to authorities.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were on routine patrol when they heard gunshots in the 5200 block of 14th Street West, an area that includes a mobile home park.
Responding deputies found a car in the roadway surrounded by shell casings with two men inside suffering from gunshot wounds.
A 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 22-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials closed 14th Street West near the 5200 block while investigators processed the scene. Traffic cameras showed a large police presence in the area for several hours before the road reopened around 10:30 a.m.
Detectives believe the shooting was a targeted attack, though investigators have not released information about possible suspects.
The investigation remains ongoing.
