NORTH CAROLINA — Multiple people were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in Asheville, North Carolina.
According to the Asheville Police Department, officers responded around 3:15 a.m. to North Lexington Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Police provided aid at the scene until EMS transported the victims to Mission Hospital.
Authorities said all of the injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
Police also confirmed that a person of interest has been detained in connection with the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
