
TENNESSEE — More than 2,300 homes and businesses across Tennessee are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to the latest power outage data.
A total of 2,339 customers are reported without power statewide. That represents about 0.07% of the 3,481,514 electric customers currently being tracked across Tennessee.
Tennessee currently has the ninth-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks 12th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Among the state’s 95 counties, Cumberland County reported the largest number of outages, with 1,967 customers without electricity. Cumberland County is also the hardest hit by percentage, with about 5.07% of customers in the county affected.
Several other counties are reporting smaller numbers of outages. Maury County reported 124 customers without power, followed by Shelby County with 55. Union County had 46 outages, Benton County reported 31, Meigs County had 27, Davidson County reported 23 and Knox County had 16 customers without electricity.
Outage data from 67 utilities across Tennessee is currently being tracked. Volunteer Energy Cooperative reported the largest number of customers without power, with 1,994 outages. Volunteer Energy Coop also has the highest percentage of customers affected, with approximately 1.54% of its customers without electricity.
Utility crews are continuing to monitor the outages and work to restore service.
