
ALABAMA — More than 2,500 homes and businesses across Alabama are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to the latest power outage data.
A total of 2,558 customers are currently without power statewide. That represents about 0.1% of the 2,604,807 electric customers being tracked across Alabama.
Alabama currently has the sixth-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks eighth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Among the state’s 67 counties, Mobile County reported the largest number of outages, with 1,044 customers without electricity. Mobile County is also the hardest hit by percentage, with about 0.48% of customers affected.
Several other counties are also reporting outages. Madison County has 523 customers without power, followed by Monroe County with 203. Elmore County reported 167 outages, Escambia County had 131, Walker County reported 83 outages, Franklin County had 67 and Calhoun County reported 57 customers without electricity.
Outage data from 32 utilities across Alabama is currently being tracked. Alabama Power reported the largest number of customers without power, with 1,939 outages. Huntsville Utilities has the highest percentage of customers affected, with about 0.23% of its customers without electricity.
Utility crews are continuing to monitor the outages and work to restore service.
