Thousands without power in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Oklahoma are without electricity Friday evening as outages were reported in multiple counties across the state.

According to the latest outage data, 3,305 customers are currently without power in Oklahoma, representing about 0.16% of the 2,045,609 customers tracked statewide. The information was updated less than 10 minutes before the report.

Oklahoma currently ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of power outages and sixth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

The largest concentration of outages is in Lincoln County, where 1,388 customers are without electricity. Lincoln County is also the hardest hit by percentage, with 8.38% of customers affected.

Other counties reporting outages include Comanche County with 981 outagesCreek County with 369Pottawatomie County with 315, and Tulsa County with 111. Smaller outages were also reported in Oklahoma, Dewey, and Murray counties.

Utility data shows Canadian Valley Electric reporting the largest number of customers without power, with 1,382 outages. The utility also has the highest percentage of customers affected, with approximately 5.56% of its customers without service.

Utility crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible. Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report the issue to their power provider and follow local safety guidance until service is restored.
