
GEORGIA — As of Thursday morning, thousands of homes and businesses across Georgia remain without electricity, according to the latest outage data.
PowerOutage.us reports that 3,205 customers statewide are currently without power, representing about 0.06% of the 5,364,557 customers tracked across Georgia.
Georgia currently ranks sixth in the nation for the total number of power outages and seventh nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Among Georgia’s 159 counties, Fannin County has the largest number of outages, with 1,456 customers without power. It also has the highest outage rate in the state, with 3.51% of customers affected.
Other counties reporting notable outages include Emanuel County with 678 customers without power, Chatham County with 406, Fulton County with 120, Atkinson County with 99, DeKalb County with 83, White County with 38, and Bibb County with 35.
Outages are spread across several utility providers. Tri-State EMC reported the largest number of customers without power, with 1,456 outages among its 16,730 customers, accounting for 8.7% of its service area.
Georgia Power, the state’s largest utility, reported 873 customers without electricity out of nearly 2.77 million customers, while Altamaha EMC reported 658 outages among its roughly 21,700 customers.
Officials continue to monitor the outages, and restoration efforts may vary depending on local conditions and the cause of the disruptions.
