
VIRGINIA — A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crashing into a power pole in McLean on Thursday morning, authorities said.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the crash involved a single vehicle. The driver struck a utility pole along Georgetown Pike.
The collision forced officials to close Georgetown Pike between Swinks Mill Road and Potomac River Road while crews responded to the scene.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have not released additional details about the driver or what may have caused the crash.
Crews are working to repair the damaged utility pole, and the roadway will remain closed until repairs are completed.
