
OHIO — More than 4,000 homes and businesses across Ohio are without electricity Thursday morning, according to the latest outage data.
As of the most recent update, 4,177 customers are without power statewide. That represents about 0.08% of the 5,359,249 electric customers tracked across Ohio.
Ohio currently ranks second in the nation for the total number of power outages and fifth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Among Ohio’s 88 counties, Lake County reported the highest number of outages, with 1,545 customers without electricity. Lake County is also the hardest hit by percentage, with about 1.49% of its customers experiencing outages.
Other counties reporting outages include Lorain County with 657 customers affected, Butler County with 511, Miami County with 217, Athens County with 202, Morgan County with 121, Cuyahoga County with 114, and Montgomery County with 111.
Utility data shows that FirstEnergy has the largest number of customers without power, reporting 1,670 outages. Meanwhile, Lorain-Medina Rural Electric has the highest percentage of customers affected, with about 3.89% of its customers without electricity.
Utility crews are working to restore service, though no estimated restoration times have been announced.
