
TENNESSEE — A deadly crash involving multiple vehicles shut down a roadway in Cumberland County on Wednesday evening, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
TDOT spokesperson Rae Anne Bradley said the crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Central Time on Highway 28 near Ed Houston Road.
Officials confirmed the crash involved multiple vehicles and resulted in at least one fatality. Additional details about the victims or how the crash occurred have not been released.
The roadway remained closed as of 5:55 p.m. as crews continued to respond to the scene and investigate the crash.
Authorities have not said when the roadway is expected to reopen. The incident remains under investigation.
