
PENNSYLVANIA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Pennsylvania are without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, about 2,727 customers statewide are experiencing outages out of more than 6.7 million customers tracked. That represents roughly 0.04% of customers across the state.
York County reported the highest number of outages, with 637 customers without power. Philadelphia County followed with 565 outages, while Monroe County reported 525 customers without electricity.
Additional outages were reported in Fayette County, where 451 customers were affected, and Cambria County with 144 outages. Smaller numbers of outages were also reported in Westmoreland, Cumberland and Carbon counties.
Among electric providers, PECO Energy Company reported the largest number of customers without power, with 1,310 outages. FirstEnergy reported 709 customers without electricity, while PPL Electric Utilities reported 669 outages.
Officials have not released information about the cause of the outages. Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts as they work to return power to affected customers across the state.
