MICHIGAN — Two people were arrested in Charlotte County after deputies said they discovered large amounts of illegal narcotics inside a home where the drugs were allegedly within easy reach of children.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), members of the agency’s narcotics unit conducted an investigation early on the morning of March 3 that led them to a residence where multiple drugs and drug-related items were found.

Detectives reported seizing approximately 3.48 pounds of methamphetamine, along with cocaine and ecstasy. Authorities also found scales, numerous plastic baggies, a vacuum sealing machine, a money counter and $20,685 in cash inside the home.

Investigators said two small children were living at the residence at the time. Deputies reported that methamphetamine crystals and used methamphetamine glass pipes were located in plain view and in areas that were easily accessible to the children.

Following the investigation, deputies arrested 30-year-old Ericka Diamond and 32-year-old Michael Nolan. Both face multiple charges, including child neglect.

Authorities did not release additional details about the investigation, which remains ongoing.
