
GEORGIA — Two inmates were injured during an altercation at Coastal State Prison on Monday, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
A spokesperson for the department confirmed Tuesday that the incident occurred inside the prison, resulting in injuries to both inmates involved.
Officials said one inmate was transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the other was treated by medical staff at the prison. Authorities reported that both inmates suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The Georgia Department of Corrections said no additional details about the incident were available as the situation remains under investigation.
