GEORGIA — Two people were arrested Monday on drug charges after police reported observing drug use and distribution in plain view at a Georgia gas station.

Jeremy Lents and Kayla Weiner were taken into custody at the Exxon station on Collins Road. Authorities said the arrests stemmed from an ongoing investigation into illegal drug sales in the area.

Investigators conducting surveillance reported seeing individuals smoking from a glass pipe and engaging in what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction. Officers then approached and made contact with the individuals.

During the encounter, investigators said they located a quantity of methamphetamine and drug-related objects consistent with narcotics use. Cell phones belonging to both Lents and Weiner were also seized as evidence.

Both were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects. Police said the arrests were made without incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
