
GEORGIA — A person was shot Tuesday morning at the Arts Center MARTA station in Midtown Atlanta, according to transit officials.
MARTA police said officers responded around 7:17 a.m. to reports of shots fired at the station. When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the victim’s condition.
Police said a suspect is in custody. No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have been released.
The investigation remains ongoing. MARTA police have not said whether the shooting disrupted train service at the station.
