OKLAHOMA — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered Monday morning along a highway in Colbert.
According to Colbert Police, officers were dispatched around 6:30 a.m. to a report of a person lying on the shoulder of southbound U.S. 69/75 near Exit 2. Responding officers pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
The southbound lanes of the highway were temporarily shut down as investigators with the Colbert Police Department, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol processed the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the victim’s identity and cause of death. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
