
GEORGIA — A Greenville man was arrested Sunday in northeast Georgia after authorities located a vehicle reported stolen during a carjacking in South Carolina.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified that a vehicle possibly taken during a carjacking in Greenville had been spotted in the area.
Deputies located the vehicle at a 76 gas station in Carnesville. Authorities said the driver had already abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot in an attempt to evade law enforcement.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Leandae Verno Glover of Greenville, was apprehended a short time after deputies arrived at the gas station and were informed of his whereabouts.
Following his arrest, Glover was transported to the Franklin County Detention Center.
No additional details about the original carjacking incident were immediately released.
