Thousands without power in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA — Power outages are affecting thousands of customers across Oklahoma as of Saturday morning, according to the latest available data.

Currently, 2,427 homes and businesses are without electricity statewide. That represents approximately 0.11% of the 2,140,460 customers tracked across Oklahoma.

Oklahoma ranks second in the nation for the total number of power outages and also ranks second for the percentage of customers affected nationwide.

Out of Oklahoma’s 77 counties, Canadian County has been hit the hardest, reporting 2,256 customers without power. By percentage, Canadian County is also the most impacted, with 2.35% of its tracked customers experiencing outages.

Other counties reporting outages include Oklahoma County (107 customers), Tulsa County (43), McIntosh County (20), and Cleveland County (1). Atoka, Beckham and Blaine counties are currently reporting zero outages.

Statewide, 34 utilities are being monitored. OG&E Energy Corp. reports the highest number of customers without power at 2,364 outages. The utility also has the highest percentage of customers affected, with 0.28% without service.

Restoration efforts are expected to continue as crews work to return service to affected areas.
