PENNSYLVANIA — A woman is in custody after leading police on a chase through McKees Rocks that ended on Pittsburgh’s North Side late Friday night.

According to the McKees Rocks Police Department, officers were initially called to a disturbance on Washington Street involving a woman who was reportedly armed with a firearm.

Police identified the suspect as Aniyah Moore. Authorities said she was in possession of a .40-caliber Glock pistol that had been illegally modified to function as a fully automatic weapon. Police also said Moore is prohibited from owning a firearm.

Officers located Moore sitting inside her vehicle at the scene. When they attempted to speak with her, she refused and tried to drive away.

Police said officers boxed in her vehicle, at which point Moore allegedly reversed into a patrol car multiple times and struck a McKees Rocks K-9 vehicle head-on. During the encounter, officers said Moore nearly ran over a K-9 officer, striking his hand and arm before he was able to jump out of the way.

Moore fled in her vehicle and later crashed into a front yard along Bright Road. She then ran from the scene on foot before being taken into custody with assistance from Pittsburgh police.

Authorities have not yet released details about charges or whether any officers required medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
