NORTH CAROLINA — A drug task force raid in Perquimans County near Hertford led to the seizure of more than 1,000 grams (about a kilogram) of methamphetamine, over 700 grams of fentanyl and a stolen .45-caliber handgun, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Deputies and the Northeastern Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Friday at a home on Sueola Beach Road along the Albemarle Sound.
Robert J. Williams Jr., 53, was arrested during the search.
Authorities say he is a convicted felon and therefore prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in fentanyl, possession of cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Williams was taken to the Albemarle District Jail and is being held without bond.
