NORTH CAROLINA — More than 200 pounds of methamphetamine were seized during a joint investigation in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Police Department.
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, members of the department’s Special Investigations Unit worked alongside the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration to confiscate 222 pounds of methamphetamine.
As part of the operation, authorities arrested 48-year-old Manuel Aguirre-Ambrocio of Perris, California. He has been charged with three counts of trafficking methamphetamine.
Aguirre-Ambrocio is currently being held without bond at the Onslow County Jail.
Police said the investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
