NORTH CAROLINA — Buc-ee’s, the popular Texas-based travel center and gas station chain known for its massive convenience stores, is planning to open its first location in North Carolina as part of a broader expansion effort.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed that Buc-ee’s will expand into at least seven new states, including North Carolina. While an exact city and opening date for the North Carolina location have not yet been announced, the store is expected to open sometime in 2026 or 2027.
The expansion marks a significant milestone for the company, which was founded in 1982 and has steadily grown across the southeastern United States in recent years.
Buc-ee’s is widely recognized for its large-format travel centers that feature dozens of gas pumps, expansive retail space, and a wide selection of food, snacks, and merchandise.
The company’s Luling, Texas location holds the title of the world’s largest convenience store at more than 75,000 square feet. Buc-ee’s is also home to what it says is the world’s longest car wash, measuring 255 feet.
In addition to North Carolina, the company announced plans to open new stores in Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Ohio and Wisconsin, along with additional locations in Tennessee and Texas.
Further details about the North Carolina store — including its specific location — are expected to be released at a later date.
