NORTH CAROLINA — A Charlotte man has been arrested after police say they seized more than 77 pounds of illegal drugs and 18 firearms during a lengthy investigation.

Raheem Raysean Taylor was taken into custody on Feb. 13 and faces numerous trafficking and weapons charges, according to court documents.

Officers initially found 526 grams — about 1.16 pounds — of powder cocaine at the time of Taylor’s arrest. A subsequent search of his home on Chalkstone Road uncovered:

  • 73.6 pounds of marijuana
  • 1,060 grams (2.34 pounds) of MDMA
  • 300 grams (0.66 pounds) of cocaine
  • 26 grams (0.06 pounds) of fentanyl

Police said 18 guns were also recovered during the search, two of which were confirmed stolen.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Taylor’s arrest followed a lengthy investigation. Court documents allege he sold fentanyl to undercover detectives on at least two occasions — once in December and again in January.

Records show Taylor faces roughly a dozen trafficking-related charges, along with additional charges connected to the stolen firearms.

As of Tuesday, he remained in the Mecklenburg County jail without bond.

Police have not released additional details as the case moves forward.
