KENTUCKY — A Nelson County man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he fled from a traffic stop and was later found in possession of suspected drugs.

According to officials, Randall Scott Miller was arrested Feb. 21 after a deputy attempted to pull him over for operating a motorcycle without a license plate. The deputy reported that Miller refused to stop and drove away from the attempted traffic stop on Monks Road before turning onto Eddie Miles Road.

Authorities said Miller eventually got off the motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot. The deputy deployed a K-9 unit, which assisted in locating and apprehending Miller.

During a search of Miller’s backpack, the deputy reportedly found three bags of suspected methamphetamine, along with a scale and a pipe.

Miller was taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being transported to the Nelson County Correctional Center, where he was booked on charges related to drug possession and fleeing from police.

The case remains under investigation.
