SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was arrested Monday after authorities say he stalked a victim for months by sending threatening messages and using an Apple AirTag to track their location.
According to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, Eusebio Rivera Ortiz was charged with stalking and given a $5,000 bond.
Investigators said Ortiz sent multiple threatening messages and made numerous phone calls to the victim over several months. Authorities also allege he used an Apple AirTag to monitor the victim’s location, which allowed him to show up at places where the victim was present.
The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office assisted in taking Ortiz into custody. Officials said he was arrested without incident and transported to the Marlboro County Detention Center.
No additional details about the victim or the length of the investigation were immediately released.
