
VIRGINIA — Three people have been arrested in connection with a December shooting that left an 18-year-old man injured outside a Buffalo Wild Wings in the Mechanicsville area.
The shooting occurred around 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, in the 7200 block of Bell Creek Road. Deputies with the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire and found an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the parking lot. He was transported to a hospital, where he underwent surgery.
According to authorities, two groups of males were involved in an altercation inside the restaurant prior to the shooting. During the dispute, multiple firearms were displayed.
The confrontation then moved outside to the parking lot, where several shots were fired. The suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived. Police believe those involved are not Hanover County residents.
On Feb. 23, the sheriff’s office announced charges against three men:
Khaliyl Demond Habeeb Nasir, 22, of Henrico, was arrested Feb. 18 in Spotsylvania County. He is charged with attempted malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit malicious wounding, unlawful paramilitary activity, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a violent felon and brandishing.
Mekhi Andrew Cooper, 21, of Henrico, was arrested Jan. 7 in Henrico. He is charged with unlawful paramilitary activity, conspiracy to commit unlawful paramilitary activity and transfer of a firearm to an ineligible person.
Kalavion Nyronte Bailey, 21, of Henrico, was also arrested Jan. 7 in Henrico. He is charged with unlawful paramilitary activity and conspiracy to commit unlawful paramilitary activity.
The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing and thanked the Henrico County Division of Police and the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the case.
