KENTUCKY — A month-long prescription drug trafficking investigation has led to the arrest of a McCracken County woman, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said 40-year-old Kim Watson was arrested Feb. 20 following an investigation into the alleged sale of hydrocodone.

Detectives conducted a controlled purchase of several doses of hydrocodone from Watson in the parking lot of a business on Clint Hill Boulevard, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

After the transaction, deputies arrested Watson. A search conducted during the arrest reportedly uncovered an additional 56 doses of hydrocodone inside her purse. Investigators allege Watson did not have a valid prescription for the medication.

Watson was taken to the McCracken County Jail. She is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (hydrocodone) and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone).

The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
