
KENTUCKY — A Tennessee couple was arrested Sunday after police say drugs and a stolen handgun were discovered following an altercation at The Mint Gaming Hall in Franklin.
According to a uniform citation, officers with the Franklin Police Department responded to a report of a physical fight in progress at The Mint on Nashville Road. Security personnel told police a man was physically fighting with staff and had been restrained on the ground when officers arrived.
The man was identified as 35-year-old Derrick Bradley of Nashville, Tennessee. Police said Bradley smelled strongly of alcohol and appeared heavily intoxicated. He was taken into custody.
During a search of Bradley, officers reported finding methamphetamine and cocaine, along with more than $400 in cash. A K-9 unit later alerted to the vehicle Bradley had arrived in, prompting a search of the vehicle.
Police said the search uncovered marijuana, a handgun, digital scales and additional currency. Authorities confirmed the handgun had been reported stolen out of Nashville.
Bradley was lodged in the Simpson County Jail on multiple charges, including public intoxication, second-degree disorderly conduct, fourth-degree assault, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance involving two grams or more of methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance involving four grams or more of cocaine, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Also arrested was 40-year-old Terrika West of Ashland City, Tennessee, who had arrived at the gaming hall with Bradley.
West was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance involving two grams or more of methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance involving four grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces and receiving stolen property involving a firearm.
Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
