MARYLAND — A fatal crash in Greenbelt left one person dead and three others seriously injured Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Cherrywood Lane in Greenbelt. Prince George’s County Fire and Rescue units responded to the scene.
According to officials, one person was thrown from a vehicle during the crash. Another person had to be cut out of a vehicle by emergency crews.
Authorities said one of the people transported from the scene was in critical condition. Two others suffered serious injuries. One person was pronounced dead.
No additional details about the victims or the cause of the crash were immediately released. The incident remains under investigation.
