
MARYLAND — Power outages are affecting more than 2,000 customers across Maryland as of Sunday evening.
According to the latest data, 2,049 homes and businesses are without electricity statewide. That represents approximately 0.08% of the 2,635,395 customers tracked across Maryland.
Maryland currently ranks eighth in the nation for total outages and ninth for the percentage of customers affected.
Out of Maryland’s 24 counties, Frederick County reports the highest number of outages, with 585 customers without power. Frederick is also the hardest hit by percentage, with 0.49% of its customers impacted.
Other counties reporting outages include Baltimore County (416), St. Mary’s County (306), Harford County (301), Carroll County (276), Baltimore City (47), Anne Arundel County (41), and Montgomery County (34).
Eight utilities are tracked across the state. Baltimore Gas & Electric Company reports the highest number of customers without power at 811. Meanwhile, FirstEnergy has the highest percentage of customers affected, with 0.22% experiencing outages.
Utility crews are continuing efforts to restore service in affected areas.
