PENNSYLVANIA — A powerful nor’easter bringing heavy snow, blizzard conditions and hazardous travel to much of Pennsylvania has prompted a number of school districts and colleges to announce closures, delays or remote learning plans for Monday, February 23, 2026. Officials cited safety concerns as snow continues through Sunday night and into Monday morning.

Philadelphia Region

  • School District of Philadelphia — All school buildings will be closed Monday due to the storm. Students will attend classes virtually, and after-school activities are canceled.
  • Archdiocesan schools in Philadelphia — High schools and parish and regional elementary schools will operate a Flexible Instruction Day (virtual learning) Monday amid the severe weather threat.
  • Bristol Borough School District — All buildings are closed Monday; students will complete assignments asynchronously online.

Snow emergency declarations and blizzard warnings remain in effect for many eastern Pennsylvania counties, and significant snow accumulation is expected to impact travel through the start of the week.
