
FLORIDA — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Bradenton, and a suspect is now in custody, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 22 in the area of 34th Avenue East. When they arrived, they began life-saving measures on Rickie Riddle III, 23. Despite efforts by deputies and emergency medical personnel, Riddle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Riddle and the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Chadrick Hunter, were acquaintances. Authorities said the two men, along with a small group of others, had been spending time at a residence prior to the shooting.
Hunter was taken into custody less than 12 hours after the incident. He has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not yet released information about a possible motive.
