
ILLINOIS — A person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Edgar County, Illinois.
According to Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Edgar County Roads 11, also known as Shiloh Road, and 8, known as Horace–Brocton Road.
Barrett said a 911 caller reported witnessing a two-vehicle crash and requested emergency assistance. When crews arrived, one person was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Edgar County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police, Horizon Health Ambulance, Neal EMS, Oakland Ambulance, the Brocton and Hume fire departments, as well as Air Evac and Air Life helicopters.
The crash remains under investigation by the Edgar County Sheriff’s Department and the Edgar County Coroner’s Office.
