
FLORIDA — The Fort Pierce Police Department is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred late Friday night at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and South 35th Street.
According to investigators, the collision happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Feb. 20 when a Chevrolet Silverado attempted to turn left onto South 35th Street. As the truck entered the intersection, it was struck by an eastbound Dodge Charger that officers say was traveling at a high rate of speed.
The passenger in the Silverado was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute with critical injuries and later died. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Both drivers were also taken to Lawnwood Hospital, where they remain in serious condition.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.
