OHIO — A Newton Falls woman is celebrating a $50,000 lottery win after purchasing a scratch-off ticket at a local convenience store.
Jodi of Newton Falls bought the winning ticket at Westview Quick Stop, located at 20 Ridge Road. She said she noticed there was one ticket remaining in bin No. 66 for the Ultimate $5,000,000 Scratch-Off game and decided to purchase it.
After returning home, Jodi scanned the ticket before scratching it and learned she had won $50,000. She then scratched off the entire ticket and said she was surprised to see the first two numbers revealed were 6 and 6. Both of her children were born on the sixth day of the month, she noted, adding that the number may have been her lucky charm.
Following state and federal taxes totaling 26.75 percent, Jodi will receive $36,625. She said she plans to take a Caribbean cruise and save the remainder of her winnings.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the Ultimate $5,000,000 Scratch-Off offers the best odds to win $5 million in the lottery’s history. As of Feb. 17, 2026, six top prizes of $200,000 per year for 25 years remain unclaimed. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 3.61.
